Department of Ecological Environment Management
The Department of Ecological Environment Management was formerly the Department of Environmental and Resource Management of the School of Environment at Renmin University of China. The Department encompasses two distinct disciplines: Ecology and Sustainable Development Management, with the overarching goal of nurturing talents for China's ecological civilization construction.
Currently, the Department offers a Master's degree program in Ecology, Master's and Doctoral programs in Sustainable Development Management, and a postdoctoral research station in Public Administration. Additionally, the Department offers a dual-degree program in Resource and Environmental Economics and Public Administration through collaboration with the Department of Ecological and Environmental Economics, as well as the Department of Urban Planning and Management at the School of Public Administration.Among the full-time faculty members in the department, there are 6 professors, 7 associate professors, 4 assistant professors, and 2 postdoctoral fellows. Most of the faculty members have overseas study or visiting experience. The main research areas include environmental policy and management, modern environmental governance systems, ecological asset management, national park construction and management, tourism resource management, and sustainable ecology. The department primarily focuses on cultivating composite talents with a high level of professional competence and strong practical skills. These individuals are well-versed in the theories and methodologies of ecological environment management, enabling them to engage in research, consultation, planning, and management within fields such as ecological and environmental protection, national park system construction, natural resource management, and ecological environment policy design.
By providing students with solid training in the theoretical knowledge and analytical tools of ecological environment management, we help them gain in-depth understanding of the domestic and international development trends in the field, along with relevant policies and regulations.. This training is designed to enhance students' ability toconduct independent research and address practical challenges within the field of ecological and environmental management.
