Dr. Weixing Tong received a B.S. and a master degree in geology from Hefei University of Technology, China and graduated from University of California,Santa Cruz, with a Ph.D. degree in Earth Sciences. He previously worked as a senior hydrogeologist and project manager in a consulting firm specialized in roundwater development and management. He joined Los Angeles Water Board in 1999 and currently works as a senior engineering geologist and unit chief. His team is managing underground storage tank (UST) contamination cases in Los Angeles coastal area. He is also one of the two primary project engineers supervising Charnock Sub-Basin MTBE Contamination Investigation project. He eveloped an analytical model for estimation of MTBE plume length. He has ublished several papers in professional journals and currently is a co-primary investigator working on one Natural Science Foundation project. Dr. Tong has licenses for California Professional Geologist (P.G.), Certified Hydrogeologist(CHG), and Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG).
Dr. Jun Lu is a California professional geologist, certified Hydrogeologist, and certified Engineering Geologist specializing in environmental forensics. Twenty-seven years of involvement in various environment-related disciplines has allowed him to effectively integrate multiple key disciplines in support of site characterization and forensic investigations. Dr. Lu has provided forensics technical support for legal teams for environmental liability related projects and for development and refinement of Conceptual Site Models (CSMs) for countless complex sites. His experience includes working at diverse facilities, including: marine crude spills, petroleum refineries, terminals, pipelines, and underground storage tanks, oil fields, MGP sites, chlorinated solvent sites and various other industrial facilities. He has been invited to chair and present at sessions on forensics-related subjects at national and international conferences and has published numerous papers within disciplines of geology and petroleum forensics. Dr. Lu has also served as a "Subject Matter Expert" on groundwater hydrogeology for the State of California Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. He is currently a Technical Leader specializing in the development of CSMs and environmental forensics for AECOM. Dr. Lu holds bachelors and masters degrees in geology and a Ph.D. in geochemistry.
